Always working on our commitment to facilitate your metadata and royalty management, we have created a tool to import public performance payment statements from the music societies (performing rights organizations – PRO) that are associated with ECAD in Brazil. Unlike in most countries, in Brazil there’s a central entity called ECAD to guide the PROs.
This tutorial is about their Public Performance in digital services report. Besides that report, Ecad also provides two other types that complement the default report. One is the SD report, related to public performance credits in digital services, and the other is the AP report, related to the anticipation of retained royalties.
How it’s done
1) Get your PDF file reports
The first step is to download the PDF file from your public performance society portal or ask them to send you your payment statements in PDF (Ecad format) for the performance in digital services. This report usually has the acronym SD in the file name. Once you have this report, you will be able to start the process in our system.
Go to the “Public Performance (Digital)” section, under “Finances” and click on the actions button in the lower right corner of the screen to find the “Import” button.
2) Select the file to import
When you click on the “Import” button, a window will appear with the options:
- Report type: which should be that of the company that represents you;
- File: where you will select your payment statement. That is the file you have received or downloaded from your Performance Rights Organization;
- Notify everyone: A checkbox so that all users in your company are notified when the report import is complete.
At the end of the import of the public performance statement in digital services, you will receive an email with a summary of the import.
Done! You can now view monthly charts and get a better understanding on your public performance earnings.
